We propose a new method to test generalized linear model (GLM) assumptions. This approach compares two estimators of the marginal distribution of the response variable Y and it is called the marginal distribution (MD) method. We compare the MD method with the existing goodness-of-fit test for the GLM. When the existing goodness-of-fit method is invalid, the MD method is still valid
