|TITLE:||Teaching Probability and Statistical Inference Invigorates My Research Pursuits: Selected Highlights|
Lately, I have published extensively on various topics including probability, applied probability, statistical inference, linear models, and multivariate distributions. The associated research topics and ensuing publications originated primarily from teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in statistics.
In this presentation, I will touch upon sufficiency, invariant tests, Rao-Blackwell-Lehmann-Scheffe type theorems, as well other interesting stuff with regard to Student’s t-distributions, correlations, independence, and multivariate normality. I may, however, change the order of topics as needed. While I may not be able to touch upon every single aspect with equal depth, I hope to highlight as many specific interesting problems as possible along with their origins and resolutions.
It is my experience that teaching-related ideas may often lead to substantial research. I find this two-way process connecting research and teaching very exciting and fruitful.
