I will provide a brief overview of recent developments in computational tropical algebraic geometry.

To be precise, I will discuss the computation of tropical links using triangular decomposition and root approximation, the computation of tropical varieties using massive parallelization, and certificates for generating sets which are not tropical bases.

I will highlight some applications with special emphasis on those outside of tropical and algebraic geometry.
