The students are supposed to to an individual project, which consists of a presentation and a report.

The topic of the presentation is open but should be within the area of probability theory.

The final report should be typed out in LaTeX and serves as a brief supporting document (notes) for the presentation.

Grading policies

The total points of the project is 100 points, which can be divided into three parts:

  1. Project Proposal (20 pts).
  2. Presentation (40 pts)
  3. Final report (40 pts)


  • Project proposal: due by October 30
  • Preliminary report: due by November 13
  • Project presentations: November 27 - December 1
  • Final report: due by December 4
