The placement test will be given to students intending to take Math 224, Math 223, or Math 220 as indicated below:
This test must be taken and passed by all students planning to take these courses. There are NO exceptions. A placement test taken and passed at Binghamton for one of the previous two semesters will still count. It does not have to be taken again.
You do not have to take the test before registering for the course. You can take it after registering. However, you must pass the test to be allowed to actually take the course.
The box below gives the schedule for the Placement Test for students intending to take Math 224, Math 223, or Math 220.
The University Testing Center offers a limited number of free remote Placement Tests during the first week of classes. To check availability or schedule an appointment, click here.
The Placement Test is also available 24/7 through ProctorU.com. Note that ProctorU will charge a fee to proctor you remotely via webcam.
DO NOT LEAVE THIS EXAM TO THE LAST MINUTE.
You will receive your score as soon as you submit your answers. If you fail the test you can take it again on a different day. Since the test can be repeated, nothing is lost by taking it at the earliest possible time.
