TITLE:Adapting graduate-level statistics coursework for the undergraduate statistics major

Abstract

As universities see the rise of students seeking a bachelor's degree in statistics, it is important to offer specialized courses beyond the usual introductory statistics. To better prepare these students for the workforce and graduate school, these students can benefit from a taste of advanced methodology and some theory. Because of this, we are taking graduate-level topics and trying to make them accessible to the undergraduate cohort. This talk will discuss how we developed course notes and activities to get the students to understand these more challenging concepts from advanced programming to linear models proofs.
