A five-day workshop on structural aspects of graphs and matroids took place in the beautiful campus of Princeton University, July 21-25, 2014. The recent resolution of Rota's conjecture by Geelen, Gerards, and Whittle was a highlight of the workshop. I will discuss parts of certain talks, primarily based on my notes.
