Fun at Summer Conferences

Abstract for the Combinatorics Seminar 2008 September 2

I went to several conferences:

and I remember some of what I saw.

Emanuele Delucchi will help me reminisce about what was interesting at the Orlik conference, which was largely about arrangements of hyperplanes.

The Odessa conference was largely about differential geometry and PDEs (so what was I doing there? an open question).

The ICDM in Mysore was mostly about graph theory and had some excellent advanced talks.

The Vermont conference was an informal get-together with some nice people from the region, including the University of Vermont and St. Michael's College.
