Campus Involvement

The following is a list of things I am involved with or have been involved with on campus.

Current Involvement

aikido.jpg Binghamton Aikido Club
I have been a member of the Binghamton Aikido Club, since Fall of 2013. My current official rank is 6th Kyu, but I have been studying Aikido for the past 5 years. “Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba; its name means “The Way of Peace.” It is a non-competitive art that stresses a system of fluid motion to deal with attacks. It is different from arts such as Karate in that it does not rely on physical strength and rote memorization to achieve its ends.” (Quoted from the campus rec website). For more information visit the Aikido Club page.

Former Involvement

bugcat13.jpg Binghamton University Graduate Conference in Algebra and Topology (BUGCAT)
I was an organizer for the 6th annual BUGCAT held in 2013. Although I'm no longer an organizer I highly recommend attending the event. BUGCAT is a one-of-a-kind conference run entirely by, and for, math graduate students. The conference is a venue where algebra and topology graduate students in all stages of their research can present their work, practice giving talks, and network with other mathematicians sharing related research interests. For more information about attending BUGCAT visit the BUGCAT page.
